Kevin Honor Animatic
I had an idea of creating an animated short that introduces some fun comic book characters (mainly villains). I stopped at the animatic stage because I had too many other things going on and had to draw the line somewhere. Below you will fine preliminary character sketches, 3D modeling of sets, and the final animatic.
Captain America Painting
Playing around with Photoshop CS5′s artistic paint brushes. I saw a really good tutorial on how to turn an image into a painting, so I converted one of my 3D renderings into this.
Comic Book Rules
Ever thought to yourself, “In my day, comic books weren’t so dark and violent. They were for kids!”
I recently bought an old book from 1949 called “Careers in Cartooning” by Lawrence Lariar. In it there is a section outlining basic moral/ethical rules for comic books. I found it quite shocking to see how far we’ve come (progress?). Below is an excerpt.
From the Vault: Superman
An unfinished illustration of Superman from back in 2005, in the days I was using Poser for my 3d characters.
The Flash Poster
Here’s an update to my Flash illustration. I went back to the 3D model and adjusted the pose, re-rendered at a better angle and overall tweaked it. I think its an improvement over the original.
