Scribbler Too
Here are some random sketches I did using the cool web app Scribbler Too. Some aren’t that great, but it was fun to experiment with a drawing program that is only 85Kb!

Barn Wars
This is a Star Wars Fan Film I did for Atom Films back in 2004. It was my first Flash animation over a minute long. There is so much I would change about it now, but it stands as a good reminder for me to not repeat the same mistakes. Still, I had a lot of fun making it.
The Yody Years
What was Yoda like as a kid? Find out in this Star Wars Fan Film. This is an animation I did for Atom Films in 2005. I was a finalist in the competition and went to the Celebration III Star Wars convention for the Award ceremony. I didn’t win, but it was a fun experience.
I had an idea of creating an animated short that introduces some fun comic book characters (mainly villains). I stopped at the animatic stage because I had too many other things going on and had to draw the line somewhere. Below you will fine preliminary character sketches, 3D modeling of sets, and the final animatic.
This is a bit of an odd ball. I was trying to help some people do better at following sheet music in a cappella singing and created this simple tip sheet. No promises that it is technically accurate but for those that need very very basic understanding of all the little black dots on the page, this might help.
Playing around with Photoshop CS5′s artistic paint brushes. I saw a really good tutorial on how to turn an image into a painting, so I converted one of my 3D renderings into this.
Ever thought to yourself, “In my day, comic books weren’t so dark and violent. They were for kids!”
I recently bought an old book from 1949 called “Careers in Cartooning” by Lawrence Lariar. In it there is a section outlining basic moral/ethical rules for comic books. I found it quite shocking to see how far we’ve come (progress?). Below is an excerpt.
Sample illustrations from an unfinished children’s book I was working on (off and on) from 2002-2005.
An unfinished illustration of Superman from back in 2005, in the days I was using Poser for my 3d characters.
Another attempt at a photo-composite matte painting. Most source images were from CGtextures.
Here’s an update to my Flash illustration. I went back to the 3D model and adjusted the pose, re-rendered at a better angle and overall tweaked it. I think its an improvement over the original.
A Zbrush model, sort of resembling Abraham Lincoln. Wasn’t meant as a portrait of him, just random sketching and experimenting.
I’ve spent some time creating better 3D turntables of some of my models. I have updated the following posts with new videos:
3D version of Peter Griffin from Family Guy
Captain America Earth X Turntable
Here’s my idea for how to make corn more exciting: make it a super hero! He started out small but now he’s super (even his name implies promotions). And every hero needs a sidekick too.

Some illustrations I made based on renders of my 3D model. Renders done in Zbrush. Post-work in Photoshop.
Here is a 3D model I built in Zbrush 4 of Earthworm Jim, a character from Games and cartoons.
A Zbrush model of Benjamin Franklin based partly on the US $100 bill. I didn’t spend a lot of time on the hair (its my least favorite part to work on).
I know Ookla should be riding the yellow beast and Thundarr should be on a white horse, but a white horse is boring to look at.
